FB Michael Zordich Waived Showed potential in 2013 before tearing ACL during preseason. Just didn't have it this summer.
WR Marcus Lucas Waived Faded after strong start to training camp, but Panthers hope to have the 6-4 wideout on their practice squad.
WR Tavarres King Waived Bubble he was on burst early Saturday. Had his moments during camp, but ceiling was too low.
TE Mike McNeill Waived/Injury Settlement Position was loaded, and preseason knee injury effectively ended his chances.
G Derek Dennis Waived Had trouble moving up the depth chart at what turned into a relatively deep position.
G Chris Scott Released Somewhat surprising, but perhaps should have been considering his struggles to stay in shape.
T Andrew McDonald Waived Probable for practice squad. A bit of an underrated story after fighting cancer scare this offseason.
T Kevin Hughes Waived/Injured Fourth straight year he's released during final cuts (Rams '11 & '12, Packers '13).
DE Frank Alexander Suspended Won't be able to play through Week 4, but he is allowed to practice.
DT Casey Walker Waived Fought through cracked ribs to finish strong. Practice squad candidate.
DT Micanor Regis Waived Added to roster in late July, he acted as a camp/preseason body.
DT Drake Nevis Waived Veteran picked up in May was a long shot at one of the team's deepest spots.
LB D.J. Smith Waived Charlotte native impressed many, but this spot goes to Ben Jacobs.
LB Denicos Allen Waived Toss up between Allen and Glanton for a practice squad spot.
LB Adarius Glanton Waived Toss up between Glanton and Allen for a practice squad spot.
CB James Dockery Waived Panthers have had three years to check him out. Finally decided to cut bait.
CB Carrington Byndom Waived Developmental player improved throughout the summer. Probable for practice squad.
CB Josh Thomas Waived Last season's Week 1 starter continued to have problems with consistency.
S Robert Lester Waived Panthers could have put him on IR with ankle injury, but they became more displeased with him as the summer went along.
S Anderson Russell Waived/Injury settlement Had a chance to grab a spot with two preseason starts, but he struggled instead.
S Tom Nelson Waived Early training camp pickup was there to help take snaps.

    I feel like they’re awful thin at safety.  I would assume Godfrey will act as a backup to the position and/or that’s one of the main positions they’ll be looking to upgrade before week 1.
