DE Frank Alexander (restricted) — After three suspensions – including one that won’t end until late next season – plus a torn Achilles, the Panthers will move on from Alexander.
WR Jerricho Cotchery — The final three years on his five-year contract have been voided. The Panthers probably won’t bring him back.
CB Cortland Finnegan — After coming out of semiretirement, he could hang them up permanently this offseason.
G Tyronne Green — Hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since 2012 and is coming off a torn Achilles he suffered in June.
S Roman Harper — Has some tread left on his tires. Because of his role as a mentor in the defensive backfield, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Panthers kept Harper around another year.
DT Kyle Love — The Panthers were the only team to give him a shot near the end of 2014, so they could keep him around another year.
P Brad Nortman — This may not be the no-brainer it appeared in the past, but odds are he’ll get a deal.
G Chris Scott — Versatile, but not necessary.
OL Amini Silatolu — It may be time to cut ties with the oft-injured former 2nd-round pick.
CB Charles Tillman — Hard to see the Panthers or anyone else giving him a 14th season, especially since his ACL won’t be ready until later in 2016.
FB Mike Tolbert — He won’t match his last contract, a four-year, $10 million deal, but it’s a good bet the Panthers will bring him back.
C Fernando Velasco — See: Chris Scott … ditto.
(Franchise tagged) CB Josh Norman — His age — he’ll turn 29 in December — is a long-term deal killer. Hard to see this not ending with a franchise tag that’ll cost the Panthers close to $14 million.
(Re-signed) LS J.J. Jansen — If it ain’t broke …
(Re-signed) LB Ben Jacobs (exclusive rights) — If back, he’ll have to fight for a roster spot again.
(Given second-round tender) OT Mike Remmers (restricted) — Had a finish to forget, and RT may be earmarked for Daryl Williams now, but Remmers would at least provide solid depth.
(Re-signed) WR Stephen Hill (restricted) — With QB Cam Newton in his corner, Hill could get one more shot.
(Re-signed) QB Joe Webb — He likes the Panthers, they love his versatility, he’ll likely return.
