it would be cool if you posted a transcript of the podcast as well, that way we could scan and read instead of listening. Just another option

just my 2 cents on marty’s 2 “great” picks in cam and luke.  yes they were a-mazing picks.  but why?  2-14 in 2010 and 6-10 in 2011.  almost any team would have great picks that high in the draft 2 years in a row…except for maybe the raiders and browns.  he really hurt us with those loyalty contracts (or at least that’s the way i see them), so i really don’t look back on him as a job well done.  he may be a good guy and made some good moves early in his tenure, but how did he help the team in the long run?  Gman sees the grand picture of the future and is making some headway on the contract situations and salary cap limits.  And after last year, the man has my faith, albiet a bit less now cause i’m nervous.  i have faith he is a good gm, but the guy needs to learn some PR skills!  sorry for the rant and for going on a tangent, but again, just my 2 cents.

mikem2  good suggestion, Mike. could possibly do it with shorter ones.

appgrad22  well, Marty did help the team get to a Super Bowl. and two NFC Championship games. did he make mistakes? yup, like all GMs. the contract stuff, you’re right … killers. but we also don’t know the whole story behind each one. and he helped the team in the long run by drafting Cam, Luke, Kalil, Hardy. again … yes, mistakes were made, but he doesn’t deserve the blanket criticism he gets from many.

thanks for checking out the podcast. we’ll get it up to iTunes once we record a couple more. they have a few rules before approving podcasts, and one is to have some shows to submit.

billvoth appgrad22  i didn’t mean to blanket him with failure.  i guess i’m sayin he stuck around past his expiration date.

appgrad22 that’s fair, but it’s also what happens in that job. few happy endings, divorce inevitable.
