1. The Panthers have not yet made a decision on who will start at quarterback Sunday against the Browns.

2. Very little of what the Panthers are doing is gamesmanship. They are truly evaluating Cam Newton on a day-to-day basis.

3. As he usually does, Newton sprinted out of the team huddle at the start of practice.

5. Newton and backup Derek Anderson split reps.

6. Anderson was brought to the podium after practice to talk to the media, but Newton is expected to do the same on Thursday. “I’ve got nothing for you,” Anderson said when asked if he could shed some light on who would start.

7. During his time with the media, coach Ron Rivera said ‘tomorrow’ 10 times. Examples:

“Tomorrow will be a big day, especially in the morning, to see where [Newton] is health-wise.”

“We’ll see how he is tomorrow. If he continues to progress, he’ll practice again, and his reps will probably increase.”

“He looked good. He moved around well, but again, the big indicator will be how he is tomorrow. For as much stress as he put on himself today, we’ll see how he is. And tomorrow we’ll add to that if he’s ok. And then we’ll see how he is Friday morning.”

8. Rivera indicated he would like to make a decision on who will start by Friday. That does not mean Rivera will announce his starter that day.

9. Tomorrow is a big day.

10. So is Friday.
