DeAngelo Williams, Jerricho Cotchery, Jason Avant Questionable for Panthers

The Panthers head into the weekend with their starting running back and two of their top three receivers listed as questionable for Sunday night’s prime-time game with the Steelers.Running back DeAngelo Williams, and receivers Jerricho Cotchery and Jason Avant are all dealing with hamstring injuries.Williams hadn’t practiced since last Wednesday, but he took all his reps during Friday’s walkthrough. Avant was also back after he missed Thursday, but Cotchery was held out.”DeAngelo had a good day today. Worked well. But you always hope there are no setbacks. And the same thing with Jason, too,” head coach Ron Rivera said. “Jerricho ran in the pool. Tomorrow we’ll run him on the grass, and then we’ll see Sunday when we get to the game. Hopefully he passes the muster.”Even if Williams is active, the Panthers may promote undrafted free agent Darrin Reaves from the practice squad. If either of the receivers don’t play, Brenton Bersin could see a larger role, and Marcus Lucas or Stephen Hill may be brought up from the practice squad.
