- A Friday afternoon check of Sunday’s forecast showed a high of 17 degrees in Minneapolis. One of Rivera’s messages to his team before they broke practice Friday:
“Hey guys, it’s going to be cold up there, it’s going to be cold for us, it’s going to be cold for them, it’s going to be cold for you, it’s going to be cold for me. Too bad. That’s just the way it is. We can’t let that effect us. We can’t let that bother us. It’s like going down in playing in the heat against Tampa in the opener. Truth of the matter is, it’s going to be cold for them as well.”
- After he was signed off the practice squad last week, receiver De’Andre Presley will be active for the first time since he played four games with the Dolphins in 2012.
“I think this will be an opportunity for us to watch De’Andre,” Rivera said. “I like what we’ve seen from him. Going forward, we had some plans for him as far as a return guy, this will give us an opportunity to take a look at him in that position as well. We’re going to give him an opportunity. He and Philly [Brown] are two vertical guys, two fast guys; quick guys underneath. One thing we talked about a week ago was trying to create more opportunities to get more speed on the field.”
