- SS Anderson Russell continued to play most snaps with the ones; Russell and Robert Lester will get a lot of time vs. Patriots

- DE Wes Horton replaced Johnson; Horton will get more snaps ahead of Frank Alexander now because of Alexander’s upcoming suspension

- QB Cam Newton will play against the Patriots; a good bet is he’ll take at least as many snaps as he had against the Chiefs
- While the Panthers will certainly have their eye on both upcoming cuts, they’re also not giving up on too many of their current guys just yet. They want to give most a fair shot through two more games.
- The sky opened up just as the Panthers were starting practice, and they had to go inside shortly after because of lightning. They returned about an hour later and got in some work under the humid conditions Rivera has been hoping for.
