The Panthers were pleased when they were awarded two compensatory draft picks Monday. Two days later, the news got even better. Their extra 5th- and 6th-rounders are now both in the 5th.Apparently, there was an error in the league’s database when the selections were originally calculated. The NFL Management Council re-did the math, and the new formula popped out these revisions:
- Carolina’s 6th-round pick (213) is now a 5th-round pick (174)
- Denver’s 6th-round pick (208) is now a 7th-round pick (250)
- Pittsburgh’s 7th-round pick (252) is now a 6th-round pick (212)
And here is the updated order of the Panthers’ nine total selections:
- 1st round: 25th overall
- 2nd round: 57th overall
- 3rd round: 89th overall
- 4th round: 124th overall
- 5th round: 161st overall
- 5th round: 169th overall
- 5th round: 174th overall
- 6th round: 201st overall
- 7th round: 242nd overall
