Panthers’ Ryan Kalil “Ready to Go” Against the Packers

Carolina Panthers center Ryan Kalil missed his first game since 2012 when he watched his teammates beat the Colts Monday night. He's not planning to sit out another.

"Yes, sir, ready to go," Kalil said Friday when asked if he would play Sunday against the Packers.

"I'll be out there and good to go."

Kalil suffered a high-ankle sprain early in the third quarter of the Panthers' Week 7 win over the Eagles. He didn't miss a snap and coach Ron Rivera said last week he wasn't aware Kalil was injured until the next day.

"It got pretty swollen after the game," Kalil said. "I think when you're already going and all the adrenaline and stuff, you can fight through stuff, but the next day it just plumped up.

"We were hoping with the Monday game we'd get a little extra time to try to get some of that swelling out and we just couldn't get it down in time."

Having Kalil in the lineup against a Packers' front that plays a number of odd fronts is a big plus for the Panthers. And for Kalil, playing two weeks removed from a high-ankle sprain is just another Sunday.

"In my ninth year I've got a grocery list of stuff I've got to manage from week-to-week, so this will just go on that."
