The Niners ended up scoring on two straight drives after Carolina had held them out of the end zone for 17 consecutive drives.

—After failing on 4th-and-1 from the 49ers’ 1-yard line at the start of the second quarter, the Panthers finished the season 10-for-14 on fourth down conversion attempts.

—The Panthers 93 rushing yards were their second-fewest this season (81 vs. Saints, Week 16).

—The Panthers ran 13 plays inside the 49ers’ red zone in the first half and just one play inside the red zone in the second half (an incomplete pass on the final play of the game). Carolina ran eight plays inside San Francisco’s 10-yard line and did not score a touchdown.

—Of the eight penalties called against the Panthers, five gave the 49ers a first down.

—The Panthers, who led the league with 60 sacks in the regular season, including six during their Week 10 meeting in San Francisco, finished with just one, and that came when LB Luke Kuechly sacked QB Colin Kaepernick on the game’s opening drive.

—Carolina’s last playoff win was in the 2005 season and its last home playoff win was in the 2003 season.

—In the Ron Rivera era, the Panthers are now 0-4 when coming off of a bye week.

—In their five losses, the Panthers were outscored 69-23 in the second half. They were shutout in the second half against Seattle, Arizona and in the rematch versus San Francisco.

—The Panthers finished the season 7-2 at home, with both losses coming against teams playing in the NFC Championship.

—List of Panthers’ quarterbacks who have thrown playoff touchdowns: Kerry Collins, Jake Delhomme, Cam Newton.

—List of Panthers’ kickers who have scored in the playoffs: John Kasay, Graham Gano.

—The 49ers’ 23 points were the most the Panthers gave up at home this season.

—The 49ers allowed their fewest points in a playoff game since they shut-out the Eagles on 12/29/96, a span of 13 games.

—The 49ers snapped a four-game losing streak in the series, earning their first win since 2001 when they were in the NFC West with the Panthers.
