WHAT IT MEANS
So that was ... interesting.
The Carolina Panthers blew a 28-point lead only to win beat the Giants on the final snap of Sunday's game. Graham Gano's 43-yard field goal kept the Panthers unbeaten and trimmed their magic number to home-field advantage in the NFC to one.
Oh, and some stuff happened between Josh Norman and Odell Beckham Jr.
MUCH MORE TO COME FROM NEW YORK

NOTABLE NUGGETS
–Are just the fourth NFL team to start 14-0 (’72 Dolphins, ’07 Patriots, ’09 Colts).
–Have scored 449 points. The most they’ve scored in a season was 421 in 1999.
–Are 18-3 in December since 2011.
–Finished off a sweep of the NFC East. They also went 4-0 against the AFC South this year.
HEALTH WATCH
QB Cam Newton: Took a big shot to the chest from DT Cullen Jenkins in the first half and then tweaked his knee on a pass attempt in the third quarter. Newton didn’t miss a snap.
WR Ted Ginn: Was initially ruled out with a rib injury in the fourth quarter, but returned to finish the game.
C Ryan Kalil: Walked off slowly after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit in the fourth quarter, but he returned after missing just two plays.
Something else I just noticed. In the Patriots 2007 perfect season, they beat the Giants in the final game… by a score of 38-35! How weird is that?
The Giants came back and beat them in the Super Bowl as payback. That luckily can’t happen to the Panthers.
