The Odell Beckham Jr. rule may be coming.

In a press conference that didn't include much news, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Friday peaked the interest of many when he said he'd like to see a new rule that calls for the ejection of a player who collects two personal fouls in a game.

That's what the Beckham did in December during his ugly battle with Panthers cornerback Josh Norman. Beckham wasn't kicked out, but he was suspended for the Giants' next game.

When coach Ron Rivera was asked about the potential rule during a Friday afternoon conference call with Carolina media, he said:

"I think it something we most certainly have to look at, especially when there is so much scrutiny about what is going on. I think that is important. We have to be aware of, in terms of coaches, that we have to control our players and that the players can control themselves in certain situations and certain circumstances.

"And part of it, too, is you don’t want to see somebody get carried away where something bad happens on the football field where now all of a sudden you are going from one thing to another, and it leads to a bad set of circumstances and somebody gets hurt. I can see that being part of our discussions."

Before Goodell's idea becomes a rule, it has to be approved by the competition committee, but it seems like a no-brainer for a league banging the drum for improved player safety.
