Snap Counts: 2016-17 Carolina Panthers’ Offense

Snap count totals for the 2016-17 Carolina Panthers — out of a possible 1,110 plays.

QUARTERBACKS

Cam Newton — 1,023

Derek Anderson — 86

Joe Webb — 16

RUNNING BACKS

Jonathan Stewart — 565

Mike Tolbert — 324

Fozzy Whittaker — 308

Cameron Artis-Payne — 84

Stewart is averaging 586 snaps per season in two years as the Panthers' workhorse back. From 2012-14, he averaged just 322 plays per season. ... Tolbert's snaps per game dropped from 27.4 in 2015 to 20.3. ... Whittaker saw a 127-snap year-over-year increase while Artis-Payne played 38 fewer snaps than he did as a rookie.

Ted Ginn Jr. — 688

Philly Brown — 587

Devin Funchess — 493

Brenton Bersin — 63

Damiere Byrd — 11

Of all the receivers, Benjamin's return took the most playing time away from Brown, who saw 297 fewer snaps. ... Funchess played the same exact number of snaps as he did in the regular season as a rookie.

TIGHT ENDS

Greg Olsen — 1,033

Ed Dickson — 478

Scott Simonson — 12

Chris Manhertz — 12

Dickson's snaps per game fell from 37.2 in 2015 to 29.9.
