THE PANTHERS:

 

  • Became the fourth team in the Super Bowl era to start 14-0. Of the previous three, the 1972 Dolphins won the Super Bowl while the 2007 Patriots and 2009 Colts lost in the Super Bowl.
  • Have won 18 straight regular-season games, the best streak in NFC history and the longest since the Colts won 23 straight from 2008 to 2009.
  • Have scored 449 points, the most during a single-season in franchise history. The previous mark was 421 in 1999.
  • Have scored at least 30 points in five straight games for the first time in franchise history.
  • Have outscored opponents 124-29 off turnovers this season. They’ve turned their 35 takeaways into 14 touchdowns and nine field goals. The Giants’ fourth-quarter touchdown after a Panthers’ fumble was the first time Carolina’s defense has allowed a touchdown after a turnover this season.
  • Have scored a league-best 143 points in the second quarter.
  • Have allowed a league-best 44 points in the second quarter.
  • Allowed their most points in the fourth quarter (21) since they gave up 21 to the Lions on 11/20/11.
  • Have rushed for at least 100 yards in 25 straight games, joining Seattle for the longest such streak. The last team to hit the century mark in as many games was the ’74-’77 Pittsburgh Steelers.
  • Allowed 161 rushing yards, nearly as many as they had in their past four games combined (169).
  • Failed to pick up a sack for the first time since Week 4 at Baltimore last season.
  • Are 32-for-44 (72.1%) in the red zone over their past 10 games.
  • Finished off a sweep of the NFC East. They also went 4-0 against the AFC South this year.
