Two days after President Obama hosted the Broncos at the White House, the Panthers received their NFC Championship rings in a team meeting.
It's yet another reminder that to the victor go the spoils.
"Obviously, this is not the ring we wanted, but it does bring some closure to last season," tight end Greg Olsen told the team website. "We accomplished some great things last year — another division title, an NFC Championship — but we fell short of our ultimate goal. We've turned the page and moved forward."
Of course, it's not like getting to Super Bowl and posting one of the best regular-season records in NFL history weren't accomplishments. The Panthers could go 10-6 and win a Super Bowl one day, but 15-1 will be a tough ride to top.
Nfc championship rings came in. It's a blessing to receive this ring. But still have to strive for more to better myself and help the team this season anyway I can. #keeppounding @panthers
