The Carolina Panthers will bring, at the very most, six wide receivers to Denver in Week 1. That's eight fewer than they're taking into this third weekend of May.

LaRon Byrd and Tobias Palmer were added to the roster late Friday afternoon, upping the Panthers' total number of wideouts to 14.

Because the moves are your typical roster churning at this time of the year, they're nothing to get all that excited about. This is the fifth NFL stop for Byrd and sixth for Palmer.

Byrd, who's 6-foot-4, is the sixth Panthers' receiver who's at least 6-foot-3. He's played in five regular-season games since 2012, totaling one catch for eight yards.

The 5-foot-10 Palmer has never played in a regular-season game.

To make room for the receivers, the Panthers released tight ends Andrew Bonnet and Jake McGee, who each signed as undrafted free agents on the night day of this month's draft.
