Head coach Ron Rivera told the media not to look too far into the pecking order at various positions as they’ll likely change throughout training camp. For instance, Frank Alexander was the first-team defensive end opposite Charles Johnson on Friday, but other players will see action at that spot regularly.

Strong safety Roman Harper is 32 years old and in the last season of his contract with the Carolina Panthers, but he’s not ready to retire.

“I still feel like I’m going to play a couple of more years,” Harper said Friday. “The Panthers understand that. Unless I just fall off the freaking cliff, I’m probably going to just keep playing.”
