Monday’s Panthers’ Injury Updates

DE Mario Addison (shoulder sprain)

As of Monday afternoon, the Panthers are still waiting to hear about Addison's test results. He walked off the field and straight to the locker room clutching his arm midway through Sunday night's third quarter. Coach Ron Rivera said after the game Addison is "very doubtful" to play this week.

LB Luke Kuechly (tweaked shoulder)

Missed two plays midway through the fourth quarter, but he's fine.

LB Shaq Thompson (knee sprain)

Rivera said the first-round pick is "doing well" and "took a big step today." Thompson went through some drills Monday and the Panthers plan to have him as a limited participant when they return to practice Wednesday. If he's feeling good after that, he could play against the Colts.

OT Daryl Williams (knee sprain)

Same as Thompson. Williams hasn't played since Week 1, but last week he said he was targeting a return for Monday Night Football.

  1. So..if they are doing drills it isn’t practice? I am struggling to understand whats going on. Victory Monday, no practice. Then its stated no practice until Wednesday, but then the drills? What constitutes practice?

    1. I’m no expert in what constitutes practice, but I assume that players (such as Shaq and DW) aiming to return to practice participate in simple drills. I don’t think Panthers held full practice today, yet individuals still worked out to get ready for another prime time game in BofA Stadium.

      1. Hey guys, sorry for the confusion. Yes, most players had the day off today. Guys like Shaq and Daryl worked outside with trainers. Light drills. Players have tomorrow off as well. They’ll be back at practice Wednesday when, if they’re out there, Shaq and Daryl will likely be listed as limited since Ron said they’ll only go through individual drills.
