The Carolina Panthers may have to shed their small market label if this keeps up.

According to numbers released by CBS Friday afternoon, the Panthers' Thanksgiving Day rout of Dallas out-rated the Cowboys and Eagles Thanksgiving game in 2014. Thursday drew a 15.3 overnight rating, up 2% from FOX's broadcast of Eagles/Cowboys, which drew 32 million viewers in the most-watched show of the fall TV season.

The Panthers and Cowboys produced the NFL's highest overnight on Thanksgiving since Packers/Lions on FOX in 2011 (15.8).

In the Charlotte market, Thursday's game averaged a 31.5 rating and a 66 share, topping the previous high share for a Panthers game in Charlotte (62, at New Orleans, 2013).
