I n a span of just two days, a couple of the more maligned Panthers in recent memory found new life in Chicago. The Bears picked up receiver Armanti Edwards Tuesday, and on Thursday, they signed quarterback Jimmy Clausen. The two will forever be linked by the 2010 draft and the disastrous 2-14 season that followed.
Yet the Bears are suddenly strangely interested in that 2010 class. Before signing Edwards and Clausen, they brought in Jordan Pugh for a workout last week. The safety was one of Carolina’s sixth-rounders in 2010.
Adding to the strange recent circle between Charlotte and Chicago, to make room for Clausen, the Bears cut Lawrence Wilson. In 2011, the Panthers took the linebacker in the sixth round, then they cut him from the practice squad after he was pulled over with marijuana during the bye week.
The names of the recent past made us go down a “Where Are They Now” rabbit hole in search of other guys from the 2010 and 2011 draft classes. Click on the year below to go down memory lane.
