OTAs are technically voluntary, and it’s not like Cam Newton can get a full day of work in right now, so this is really just an FYI post. Newton and Kelvin Benjamin missed the Panthers’ Thursday session, but each had good reasons.

The quarterback was in Atlanta to kickoff his foundation’s 7 v 7 tournament, and the receiver was at the NFLPA Rookie Premiere in Los Angeles. Both are expected to be back in Charlotte when the second round of Phase 3 begins next Tuesday.
