THE PANTHERS:
  • Are 3-0 for just the fourth time in their history (1996, 2002, 2003). The only time they’ve won their first four games was in 2003 when they started 5-0.
  • Are 18-2-1 when scoring at least 20 points since the start of 2013.
  • Have scored just three points in the first quarter of their first three games. They’ve scored 27 points in the second, 24 in the third and 17 in the fourth.
  • Held an opponent to under 100 rushing yards for the ninth time in their last 10 regular-season games.
  • Allowed the Saints to convert seven of their 12 third downs after limiting the Jaguars and Texans to a combined 8-for-31.
  • Have allowed just 61 points in the fourth quarter over their last 13 regular-season games.
  • Have just two sacks over their past two games after sacking Jaguars QB Blake Bortles five times in Week 1.
  • Rushed for at least 100 yards in their 14th straight game, which ties them with Seattle for the longest active streak. The 14 consecutive games also ties a franchise record set from Week 3 to Week 17 of the 2011 season.
  • Were penalized 10 times for the second straight week. At Jacksonville, they were called for just three penalties, their fewest ever in Week 1.
PANTHERS:
  • Coach Ron Rivera went 1-for-2 in challenges. He’s now 8-for-22 all-time.
  • QB Cam Newton passed for more than 300 yards for the ninth time in his career. The Panthers went 1-7 the previous times Newton hit 300 yards with the only win coming in Philadelphia on 11/26/12. His 315 yards were his most since he threw for 374 against the Bears on 10/2/11.
    • Had both a touchdown pass and a touchdown run for the 26th time in 65 career games. That’s the second-most in NFL history behind Hall of Famer Steve Young, who did it 31 times in his career.
    • Tied Steve Beuerlein for second-most touchdown passes in Panthers’ history (86). Jake Delhomme tops that list with 120.
  • WR Ted Ginn had a 55-yard reception, the second-longest of his career behind a 64-yarder he had with the Dolphins on 10/26/08.
    • Ginn has 188 receiving yards through three weeks this season, two fewer yards than he had in Arizona last year.
  • WR Corey Brown had a 12-yard run but no targets. It was the first time since Week 7 in Green Bay last year that Brown finished without a target.
  • WR Devin Funchess has exactly one reception in each of his three games played.
  • WR Brenton Bersin recorded his first career special teams tackle.
  • TE Greg Olsen had a career-best 134 receiving yards, beating his previous best of 119 against the Eagles on 11/10/14.
    • Saw 11 targets a week after he was targeted 14 times, which tied a career high. In Week 1, he caught one pass on three targets.
    • Tied a career-high with a 52-yard catch, which he also did with the Bears on 10/5/08.
  • TE Ed Dickson had two catches, upping his season total to three. He didn’t have three receptions until Week 8 last year.
  • LB A.J. Klein had a career-high 10 tackles.
  • LB Thomas Davis tied Klein for most tackles despite sitting out much of the fourth quarter with what appeared to be a shoulder injury.
  • CB Josh Norman recorded his second interception in three games, matching the single-season career high he set last year.
SAINTS:
  • QB Luke McCown attempted 38 passes, completing 31, his most in 12 career starts.
    • Before Sunday, his last completed pass was against Houston on 11/27/11.
    • His last start was on 9/18/11 when he went 6/19 for 59 yards with no touchdowns and four interceptions in a 32-3 loss to the Jets.
