Thoughts from Week 2
  • The Roaring Riot tailgate was a huge success. Revelry was had by all. You can see pics from Week 2 here. As always, all Panther fans are welcome to stop by ahead of Sunday’s game with the Saints. Just donate to our charitable partners while you enjoy the sundries.
  • Did you know that ahead of the 2011 draft, Ryan Mallett was scheduled to meet with the Panthers until the Epicentre got the best of him? Well, reportedly. Based on his performance, I’m wondering if Howl at the Moon played host to a certain boneheaded Razorback Saturday night.
  • Oh, man was it hot. That can be the only explanation for a club section that looked like this in the 3rd quarter, right? Come on, Panther fans. Consider this a call to action.

  • I’m no expert on the cornerback position, but I’m starting to think Josh Norman might be special.
  • I’d make a bigger deal out of Cam Newton’s touchdown flip, but it feels like he does something special nearly every Sunday. Panther fans are lucky to be able to watch such a unique talent every week.
On To Week 3
  • He won’t be playing, but those watching at home will still likely see Saints quarterback Drew Brees. If you ever feel he’s in at least one commercial per break, you may be right. Nyquil, Xbox, Verizon, ESPN, Visa, Wranglers and perhaps my personal favorite – Pampers:

  • Drew would like you to buy things. Carolina’s quarterback would never dream of selling himself in such a way….

  • Never …

  • That one (of many) times Steve Smith dismantled the Saints:

  • The Panthers cap situation has been discussed at length, but it pales in comparison to the cap apocalypse that awaits the Saints. Good luck with that.
  • I’ve been to the Superdome. It’s a strange building, full of staircases that lead to nowhere. It reminded me of an Escher drawing. Here’s a picture of me taken from inside the stadium.

  • This is our last tailgate for over a month. Let’s make the most of it. As always we’ll have NoDa Brewing providing beer, Dilworth Neighborhood Grille manning the … well … the grill, and plenty of shade/rain cover/seating for all. If you’re looking for me, I’ll be (one of) the guy(s) with the teased hair, eyeliner and knee-high black boots.
