Former Panthers receiver Steve Smith didn’t say much during or after he led the Ravens to a convincing win on Sunday. But not only did he prove he can still play, he also showed he can still talk.

He lobbed a one-liner for the final answer of his post-game press conference, and another dig at his former employer was revealed Tuesday night.

During Showtime’s recap of the game on “Inside the NFL,” Smith was shown figuratively putting a nail in the Panthers’ coffin. He then asked, or — told — the team to “make sure you mow my lawn.”

You can see those moments, plus his brief speech in the locker room, in the video below.

BlackBlueReview Man, he must have been really hurt by the Panthers release. Can’t seem to let it go…

  • ShopcatCycles

DanCarpenter44 or did he ask for his release like in years past? Long time Smitty fan, but just about sick of that dude.

  • CLTSCGirl

bengoodfella he continues to show everyone why they cut him. He is tiresome.

  • bengoodfella

CLTSCGirl That’s irony. His whole “chip on his shoulder” act is part of the reason Carolina decided to part ways with him.

  • bengoodfella

CLTSCGirl It had nothing to do with performance, despite what he continues to think.

BlackBlueReview his post Panthers career is really making me dislike him.

funny how quickly he’s forgotten all the second chances he got after beating up his teamates

  • carolinaturner

Really? You think he was cut because he runs his mouth? He’s being doing that for 15 years…so why would they wait so long…..it is just about money, nothing more. And to those panther fans who are tiring of him, now you don’t have to listen anymore. Just my opinion, but I think he earned his right on Sunday to do a little trash talking. And btw, if he is hurt by the Panthers organization for cutting him, cant say I blame him. He was here a long time.

i didnt want to see Smitty go. But I’ve moved on.
His release was nothing more than a Gettleman/Smith pissing contest.

We’ll take him. See you at the super bowl…if you can get a ticket.
