  1. George Gring: Inspirational summer addition will bang Keep Pounding drum before the game; still has locker next to Cam Newton.
  2. QB Cam Newton: Will play at least a quarter; won’t use full array of rushing options, but it’ll be the biggest test yet for his surgically repaired ankle.
  3. RB Jonathan Stewart: His first preseason game since he originally injured his ankle vs. the Jets on 8/26/12; has looked good since returning from a tweaked hamstring and will get a few touches to prove he’s healthy.
  4. WR Philly Brown: Undrafted rookie had a solid preseason debut; will get a chance to return punts.
  5. LT Byron Bell: The left tackle job is his to lose.
  6. DT Kawann Short: Won’t start, but worth keeping an eye on after his dominant camp.
  7. LB A.J. Klein: Will start in place of injured LB Chase Blackburn; may not give the job back.
  8. CB Charles Godfrey: Panthers want Godfrey to win nickel spot; made too many mistakes during camp.
  9. CB Josh Norman: Annual preseason stud could end up starting by Week 1.
  10. SS Anderson Russell: With S Roman Harper out, has gotten increased snaps with the starters; small, but big-hitter; would have been on roster last year if he hadn’t injured ankle.

If Boston plays the last two pre-season games any chance he doesn't end up on IR and ends up on the roster due to Harper being out?
