The last time the Carolina Panthers faced cornerback Aqib Talib, he was icing up.
Two seasons after leaving New England to sign a six-year, $57 million deal with the Broncos, Talib has solidified the secondary of the league's best defense. And while he's no Steve Smith, Talib's a pretty good talker himself. He's also not afraid to share praise.
Last week, he called Cam Newton "the most dangerous quarterback in the NFL," and Monday night, he said Panthers offensive coordinator Mike Shula is "a football genius."
That's why his comments on Carolina's top cornerback are interesting.
"Josh Norman, pretty good corner," Talib said. "Making a name for himself this year. Playing good football. Getting in that end zone. Getting his hands on footballs. He’s a pretty good corner."
While Shula deserves a ton of credit, he's a "genius" while Norman is just "pretty good"?
Perhaps Talib has a different definition of pretty good than most. He did add this about Newton:
"Pretty good dancer. Man, I was checking him out. You know, he got it. He probably be practicing. He’s a pretty good dancer, though."
So who knows, maybe, like Smith, Talib thinks Norman is good, but not great. But that would mean those two agree on something. Which also makes this a perfect time to embed this, just because:
