An hour after — and it's strange to use this next word, but here goes – former Carolina Panthers defensive end Charles Johnson jokingly posted this job-seeking pic to his Instagram account:
I love being cool calm and collected #notoneworryatall #imjustdiffrenttypeofperson #lookingforajobinthepaper😂 #defiantlygotfireonmydayoff😂

ESPN's Josina Anderson was the first to report Johnson's initial interview:
I'm told former #Panthers DE Charles Johnson is traveling Sunday for a visit with the #Giants.

So Johnson, who racked up the second-most sacks in Panthers' history, will start his job hunt with the former employer of the man who asked Johnson to take a significant pay cut.
Carolina general manager Dave Gettleman saved $11 toward his 2016 salary cap by releasing Johnson.
Value-wise, it makes sense from a Panthers' perspective, and you can't blame Johnson for trying to find a team who will pay him more than Gettleman would have. If that doesn't happen, the two sides could end up reuniting.
But the Giants, who are looking to rebuild their defense this offseason, have gobs of cap space. Plenty of that will likely go toward pass rushers.
After Johnson stops by, they're reportedly going to chat with Mario Williams. They could also toss money at a couple of their own impending free agents, Jason Pierre-Paul and Robert Ayers.
