As he walked onto the Bank of America Stadium practice fields Tuesday morning before the start of minicamp, Carolina Panthers special teams coach Bruce DeHaven said: “I’m so excited to be back, I can’t even describe it.”
DeHaven left the team early last month to deal with a serious medical condition, but he returned this week and hopes to continue coaching throughout the season. Russ Purnell, who has been leading the unit in DeHaven’s absence, will remain on staff.
