Carolina Panthers' Monday Injury Report
LIMITED
- DT Vernon Butler: First-round pick "did something to his hand in practice," according to coach Ron Rivera, who added, "They're going to take a look at it and we're going to find out a more a bit later."
- LB A.J. Klein: Returned after missing all of last week with a sore back. Rivera said he's "very optimistic" Klein will practice again on Tuesday.
- S Dean Marlowe: Four weeks to the day he strained his hamstring, he went through his second straight limited practice. He'll probably be inactive Thursday night.
WORTH NOTING
- WR Kelvin Benjamin: He played 35 snaps against the Patriots, so Benjamin should be able to reach the 30-35 play goal Rivera's set for Week 1.
"You see him really getting back into stride in terms of you see him taking more reps, you see him doing extra work, you see him working with on Cam on the side a little bit more," Rivera said. "You can see him gaining more and more confidence. So as the game progresses, if we hit that number, great. If we exceed it, I think that's even better for us."
- RB Jonathan Stewart: The Panthers limited his work in the preseason, when he had seven touches in two games. They did before he set a career high in carries last season.
"He's worked very hard in terms of his preparation," Rivera said, "and if it's anything like what happened last year, we're pretty excited about it. We're anticipating him (being) ready to roll."
