PANTHERS’ WEDNESDAY INJURY REPORT
DID NOT PRACTICE
- TE/FB Richie Brockel (shoulder) – Head coach Ron Rivera said the Panthers hope to get Brockel back in the “very, very near future,” but Sunday looks unlikely.
- DT Star Lotulelei (foot) – The Panthers will take this one up to Friday, but it’s hard to see them rushing back their most important run-stuffer; if Lotulelei doesn’t play, Kyle Love will start alongside Kawann Short with Dwan Edwards and Colin Cole also getting into the rotation.
LIMITED
- C Ryan Kalil (knee) – Practiced for the first time since he sprained his knee against the Dolphins; appears on track to play Sunday.
- CB Josh Norman (concussion) – Still waiting to pass one more test before he’s completely cleared; doesn’t think that’ll be a problem.
- OT Nate Chandler (knee) – According to Rivera, Chandler “struggled a little bit” with his surgically repaired knee.
FULL
- CB Teddy Williams (groin)
NOTES
- Even though he missed the entire preseason, DE Charles Johnson wasn’t even on Wednesday’s injury report. Neither were CB Charles Tillman (concussion), DB Colin Jones (groin) and WR Jerricho Cotchery.
- The Panthers added C Shane McDermott to the practice squad before Wednesday’s practice. An undrafted rookie out of Miami, McDermott was cut by Dallas this weekend. To make room, the Panthers released CB Carrington Byndom.
