Carolina Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly was helped off the field after suffering a concussion shortly before halftime of Sunday's season opener in Jacksonville.
Kuechly was injured making a tackle on Jaguars running back T.J. Yeldon. Kuechly went down immediately after the hit. When he tried to get up, he went back down.
According to Panthers' communications director Steven Drummond, Kuechly was moving around well in the locker room and encouraging the defense at halftime. He'll be in the league's concussion protocol, so his status for next Sunday's game against the Texans will be up in the air this week.
