None of this was major news, which is good news.
WR Kelvin Benjamin
According to coach Ron Rivera, Benjamin and fellow WR Stephen Hill, who tore his ACL two weeks before Benjamin, "both have been out on the field running and cutting with the trainers."
Benjamin will be limited but on the field during offseason workouts. He remains on schedule to be full-go at the start of training camp.
LB Luke Kuechly
The shoulder surgery he had at the end of February requires a four-month rehab period. So Kuechly won't do much on the field during offseason workouts, but he'll be ready for camp.
CB Bené Benwikere
Currently the Panthers' No. 1 corner, Benwikere is "progressing nicely."
Four months removed from breaking his leg against the Falcons, Benwikere isn't expected to do much during OTAs and minicamp. A training camp return still looks likely.
QB Cam Newton
He's not dealing with an injury, but here's an update.
Newton is back in Charlotte, wrapping up filming on his Nickelodeon show.
"He was here yesterday hanging out with the guys," Rivera said. "It's kind of funny; Luke said, 'Man, the energy level downstairs just went up a couple of octaves having him back in the locker room.
"It's good to see him. He looks good. You get that sense he's focusing in on the upcoming season."
