The main attraction during the first round of games at Cam Newton's charity kickball tournament Friday wasn't at Memorial Stadium.
The Carolina Panthers' quarterback instead was a two-minute walk away on an adjacent field. That meant that after Newton and his team won their opening game, they had to walk back to the stadium through a dark tunnel underneath Charlottetown Avenue.
Jonathan Jones of the Charlotte Observer, Jeremy Igo of Carolina Huddle and I tagged along to see that walk from Newton's perspective. Jones and Igo each did an excellent job translating the view into words, and here's what it looked like on video:
