Observations from Week 6
- I want to watch this GIF in an IMAX theatre until my eyes bleed and my brain melts. If I were on GLeeMONEX this would be the happy memory that drove me into a catatonic state. Look at the Kam Chancellor head shake about four seconds in and tell me it doesn’t make you grin from ear to ear.
- If your love for Thomas Davis wasn’t already all-consuming, be sure to read this. Davis is a one-off and deserves a statue right next to Sam Mills outside the stadium. He’s a credit to himself, the Panthers and the NFL. It is hard to imagine him and Greg Hardy sharing a huddle.
- Some would beating the Seahawks cathartic. It certainly was for Riot ringleader Zack Luttrell. The pic below was taken in CenturyLink moments after the clock wound down. Make yourself at home, Z:
- Cam Newton was, once again, a joy to watch. He’s playing at such a high level some are touting him for MVP. He isn’t quite up to Derek Anderson status yet, but perhaps in time he will get there. No disrespect to D.A. He is probably one of the best 32 QB’s in the league and we are lucky to have him.
- Did you know the Seahawks have two receivers named Lockett(e)? I thought they were the same guy. And I own three fantasy teams.
- Make no mistake, The Seahawks are still a very good team. The way the NFC is shaking out we can expect to see them again in January (in Charlotte, of course).
- Good work by The Riot, keeping it 100 at Dilworth Neighborhood Grille:

Onto Week 7
- Josh Norman owns a horse. The horse’s name is Delta747, but more importantly his twitter handle is @delta747j. Delta747 only follows horse-related Twitter handles so don’t get upset when you don’t get that follow back. He doesn’t even follow Josh Norman. Norman is the best.
- I was unfortunate enough to be at the Eagles game last year in Philly. Newton took nine sacks, Mark Sanchez played like an NFL quarterback and Darren Sproles did whatever he wanted. I had to ride a train from the stadium. Eagles fans are very graceful and demure. Fortunately, I’m not a bone-headed Giants fan:

- Did you watch this week’s Monday Night game? The Eagles won by 20 and looked like one of the worst offenses in the league. Sam Bradford’s play reminds me of somebody:
- This is the first in a run of three potentially great home games. Sunday Night Football against the Eagles, followed by Monday Night against the Colts and then the simple matter of Green Bay at 1 p.m. (I bet NBC, CBS and ESPN are kicking themselves over that last one). Aaron Rodgers also reminds me of somebody:
You can’t beat a primetime game. The lights, the atmosphere, the crisp air, being in the presence of Bob Costas. But most importantly, the extra hours to tailgate.
This is a big one for the Riot. Join us – eat, drink, meet the gang and donate with reckless abandon. We are located at Cedar Yard 1 at the corner of Cedar and McNinch. You know that place where your one friend got married that time? Yeah, right next to that. We may have a surprise or two.
