- Allowed eight first downs, the fewest in a playoff game since the Ravens held the Chiefs to eight on 1/9/11.
- Allowed the third-fewest rushing yards (27) in franchise history and the fewest since they held the Falcons to 26 on 1/1/06.
- Outgained the Cardinals 237-13 with a 23:56-8:44 time of possession advantage after falling behind 14-10 in the second quarter.
- Won their first playoff game since beating the Bears in the Divisional Round on 1/15/06.
- Won their first home playoff game since beating the Cowboys in the Wild Card Round on 1/3/04.
- Are the second team to win a playoff game after finishing the regular season with a losing record (Seattle, 2010).
- Have outscored opponents 46-7 in the first quarter during their five-game win streak. The Panthers scored just 30 first-quarter points in their first 12 games of the season. In their last 12 first-quarter drives, the Panthers have scored 10 times (four TDs, six FGs, missed FG, punt).
- Offensive line has allowed QB Cam Newton to be sacked just three times in his last four games.
- Have racked up 16 sacks in the second half during their five-game win streak.
PANTHERS:
- Coach Ron Rivera improved to 16-5 in games played after November.
- QB Cam Newton threw multiple touchdown passes to RBs for the first time in his career.
- RB Jonathan Stewart scored his second career postseason touchdown. He joined DeShaun Foster as the only other player in franchise history with two rushing touchdowns in the playoffs. Stewart is averaging 101.5 rushing yards over his last six games.
- RB Fozzy Whittaker had a 39-yard touchdown catch, the longest reception of his career.
- FB Mike Tolbert scored his first touchdown since 12/15/13.
- WR Jerricho Cotchery had just his third rushing attempt in his last four seasons. His five-yard carry was his longest since he gained six yards for the Jets against the Bengals on 1/3/10.
- TE Ed Dickson has four receptions for 83 yards and a touchdown in his last three games. He had seven receptions for 66 yards and no scores in his previous 14 games. He was targeted four times against the Cardinals. His previous season-high was two targets.
- DE Charles Johnson has 10.5 sacks over his last 13 games. He had no sacks in his first four games this season.
- DT Kawann Short has 3.5 sacks over his last 5 games. He had one sack in his first 12 games this season.
- DT Dwan Edwards picked up his first sack since Week 9 against the Saints.
- LB Luke Kuechly led the Panthers with 10 tackles. After finishing the regular season with a career-best 11 passes defensed, Kuechly had two more against the Cardinals. He also grabbed his second interception in his last four games.
- S Tre Boston snagged his second interception in as many weeks.
CARDINALS:
- QB Ryan Lindley threw for 82 yards, the fewest in the playoffs since Minnesota’s Daunte Culpepper was held to 78 by the Giants on 1/14/01.
