For the second time in as many weeks, the Panthers saw another team swoop in for a player on their practice squad. The Jaguars added receiver Tavarres King to their 53-man roster Tuesday, eight days after the Seahawks did the same with tackle Andrew McDonald. To fill King’s spot, the Panthers signed running back Lache Seastrunk. Seastrunk, who led the Big 12 in rushing last year, was a Redskins’ sixth-round pick in May. He averaged 4.8 yards per carry on 24 attempts during the preseason, but Washington passed on adding him to their practice squad after releasing him last month.Undrafted rookie Darrin Reaves is already on the Panthers’ practice squad, but the overall running back situation is somewhat murky.Oft-injured Jonathan Stewart was ironically the last back standing Sunday after Fozzy Whittaker (quad) and Mike Tolbert (chest contusion) left early with injuries. Starter DeAngelo Williams was held out with a sore thigh, but the team hopes he can return to practice Wednesday.King, a fifth-round pick of the Broncos in 2013, joined the Panthers last year, but he was never active on game day. He made a number of plays early in training camp this summer, but he faded throughout the preseason.
