Four teams –- the Cincinnati Bengals, Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers and Seattle Seahawks –- have not used a player on defense this season who matches Newton’s height and weight. Newton is bigger than all but two of the defenders used by his own team this season. Defensive ends Jared Allen and Wes Horton can both match Newton’s height and weight.

Kerry Eggers of the Portland Tribune shares Mike Remmers’ story:
Remmers started the 2014 season with Minnesota, was placed on the practice squad for 24 hours and was then cut. He was acquired by St. Louis, spent a few weeks on its practice squad and then was picked up by Carolina after a season-ending injury to starting tackle Nate Chandler.
That was the break Remmers needed.

What the Panthers can do to neutralize that is to stop the rushing attack early. Tennessee has the 20th-ranked rushing offense in the league at 101.6 yards per game.
If the Panthers force the Titans to pass, the likelihood of Tennessee using run-pass option plays will decrease as the game wears on.
