“Delaire went undrafted out of Towson, where he had 22.5 sacks in two seasons after transferring from Massachusetts. Delaire played in the Football Championship Subdivision title game his first year at Towson, and before Sunday his best game was a three-sack performance against Maine last September.
But on a weird day at Raymond James Stadium, with intermittent showers interrupted by patches of sun, the undrafted Delaire added to the misery of the No. 1 pick in this year’s draft.”

David Newton of ESPN.com writes there is a lot more to the 4-0 record than an easy schedule:
“The Panthers are 4-0 because they continue to get big performances from unsung players. Ted Ginn Jr., who has been in the league for nine seasons, had his first two-touchdown catch performance against Tampa Bay.
The Panthers are 4-0 because they don’t care what the critics say.
“This is the NFL,” outside linebacker Thomas Davis said. “Any team is capable of beating you on any day.”

Max Henson of Panthers.com details Ed Dickson’s unlikely fumble recovery touchdown:
“Dickson snatched the fluttering ball out of the air midstride and started making his way toward the end zone.
“It was pretty unbelievable,” right tackle Mike Remmers said. “All of a sudden Ed is running with the ball. I don’t even know who it was, but someone got a great block.”
That someone was wide receiver Ted Ginn, Jr., who followed the play and took out two Buccaneers.”

“The Panthers’ leading receiver on Sunday was Brenton Bersin. That’s a testament to just how good Newton has become in the pocket. It’s not like there were a ton of huge passes, but Cam went to the open man. That was awesome to see.”
