QUOTES TO NOTE
“He’s not anywhere near where we need him, but he’s working that way … He most certainly has everybody’s attention.”
When asked about Byron Bell’s performance at left tackle against the Bills:
“He was solid, he was stout, he was physical, he handled the stuff they threw at him. He did give up a little bit of push on the inside on one play. You’d like to see if he could have anchored it a little sooner. I think that was his only negative of the day.”
On the origin of his first name:
“My dad’s name is Foster. He wanted a junior; my mother did not. So what they did was compromise and basically took “Fos” out of Foster and fused it with my last name of Whittaker and made Foswhitt.
When asked if he has any nicknames:
“Fonzarelli. Fonzie. Some people just call me Whit. The Foz or just Foz.”
“It was amazing, finally being able to see the end zone and getting some catches. I didn’t know what to do. I was just so excited. I guess I just threw the ball and flexed.”
“We were backed up in our own end zone, so you have to go out there and be physical, be tough and make sure you know the snap count and be smart,” Turner said. “It was a learning experience. I was just glad to get out there with the fellows and get my feet wet. Playing in my first NFL game, I couldn’t be happier.”
