Stats and Superlatives
- Finished a game in a tie for the first time in franchise history.
- Have given up the two longest run in their 20-year history over the last four weeks. Le’Veon Bell’s 81-yard carry in Week 3 and Giovani Bernard’s 89-yard score on Sunday are the two longest runs in the NFL this season.
- Didn’t allow a sack against quarterback Cam Newton for just the fifth time in his three-year career.

SNAP COUNT ANALYSIS
- Trai Turner was in for every offensive play for the second straight game. Fernando Velasco may have planned to spell Turner, but Velasco had to replace Amini Silatolu after he strained his calf on the first series.
- Greg Olsen, who rested his sore ankle for two days during the week, played every snap, even though it appeared he tweaked the ankle at least twice. Vontaze Burfict didn’t help, either.
- Fozzy Whittaker saw his first offensive snaps of the season, but his sore quad limited him to 27.

THUMBS UP, THUMBS DOWN
Head coach Ron Rivera’s first controversial in-game decision this season came late in overtime. With the Panthers facing a 4th-and-1 from the Bengals 18-yard-line, Rivera sent Gano out to kick the tying field goal. The call was not Riverboat Ron-ish, but it may have been the smart thing to do against a good team on the road.
