The Panthers:

  • Finished a game in a tie for the first time in franchise history.
  • Played their first overtime game since a 27-21 loss to the Bucs on 11/18/12. The last time the Panthers won in overtime was their 29-23 double-overtime win over the Rams in the 2003 playoffs.
  • Have given up the two longest run in their 20-year history over the last four weeks. Le’Veon Bell’s 81-yard carry in Week 3 and Giovani Bernard’s 89-yard score on Sunday are the two longest runs in the NFL this season.
  • Have allowed opponents to score at least 24 points in their last four games. The most points they gave up last year was 31 to the Saints and 24 to the Bills.
  • Gave up the second-most yards in team history. Only the Saints’ 617-yard effort on 1/1/12 was a higher total than the Bengals’ 513-yard effort.
  • Have given up an average of 473.6 yards and 37.3 points to AFC North teams this year.
  • Allowed the Bengals, who came in with the worst 3rd-down conversion rate in the league, to convert 63 percent of their 3rd downs (10-of-16).
  • Didn’t allow a sack against quarterback Cam Newton for just the fifth time in his three-year career.
  • Rushed for more than 100 yards for the first time since Week 1. Their 147 rushing yards was the most since they ran for 163 in Week 13 against the Bucs last year.
  • Were 2-for-2 on 4th down. They were 2-for-2 in their previous five games.
  • Snapped the Bengals’ 11-game regular-season home win streak.

Panthers:

  • QB Cam Newton rushed a career-high 17 times after he had just 14 carries his previous four games. His 107 rushing yards were the second-most of his career (116 vs. Atlanta on 12/9/12) and they were more than the Panthers leading rusher this season (DeAngelo Williams, 106). Newton also tied a career-high with 46 passes.
  • RB Fozzy Whittaker scored his first career rushing touchdown.
  • WR Kelvin Benjamin caught seven of his eight targets a week after he brought in just three of 11 against the Bears.
  • WR Jerricho Cotchery, who caught four passes for 58 yards, saw his most targets (10) since he was targeted 12 times for the Jets on 12/12/10.
  • WR Brenton Bersin, who caught one pass in each of his previous four games, had two receptions for 13 yards.
  • TE Greg Olsen, who had six receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown, passed Mark Carrier for 4th on the Panthers’ all-time receiving list.
  • TE Brandon Williams had his first career reception.
  • DE Charles Johnson, who had a sack in overtime, passed Mike Rucker for 2nd on the Panthers’ all-time list.
  • CB Antoine Cason is one of two (DeAngelo Hall) active players with two or more interceptions in each of first seven seasons.
  • S Roman Harper has three interceptions this season, which ties a career high he set in 2007.
  • P Brad Nortman punted just once for the first time in his three-year career.

Bengals:

  • RB Giovani Bernard rushed for a career-high 137 yards. His 89-yard touchdown run was the second-longest rush in Bengals’ history (Corey Dillon, 96 yards on 10/8/01).
  • WR Mohamed Sanu set career highs with 10 receptions and 120 yards.
  • TE Jermaine Gresham, who had just eight receptions this season, caught six passes for 68 yards.
