A couple Carolina Panthers played reporter Monday, even though both pieces of news have been expected to happen at some point the next few weeks.First, running back DeAngelo Williams told WBTV he’s been informed about his imminent release. Then, offensive tackle Byron Bell posted this message on his private Instagram page:An upcoming free agent, Bell wanted to stay in Carolina, but the team went into the offseason planning to move on, according to league sources. The Panthers picked up Bell as an undrafted rookie in 2011. He started 41 games at right tackle before he got a chance to replace the retired Jordan Gross at left tackle last season. That didn’t go well, and the Panthers will head into free agency and the draft looking for a more dependable blindside blocker for quarterback Cam Newton.
