Charlotte Gives Panthers’ Thomas Davis Key to the City

Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis has worked, played and given in Charlotte for 10 years. Monday night, the city gave back to him.Davis received the key to the city from Mayor Dan Clodfelter during a ceremony at the city council meeting. Last month, Davis won the NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year Award for his play on the field and his contributions off of it through the Thomas Davis Defending Dreams Foundation.“We are excited to honor Mr. Davis for receiving the 2014 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award and for his service to our community,” Clodfelter said in a statement. “The Key to the City is presented to an esteemed citizen and trusted friend of the city’s residents. Through his foundation and other charitable acts, Mr. Davis has proven his commitment to empowering young Charlotteans as they pursue their dreams.”

It was truly an honor to receive the key to the city tonight. I'm even more excited I get to share it with @mrstd58 @bellaboca65 @itsluxuryliving @noleezy and @njdauria thank you guys for all the work that you do to make @defendingdreams58 a success.
