Coming soon to a television network near you – "Panthers Huddle: What Really Goes on in Carolina's Huddle."
At least, that's Cam Newton's idea.
The quarterback was in a chatty mood Friday before heading to Atlanta for the bye weekend. Instead of rushing off the podium as soon as possible, Newton apologized to a member of the Panthers' PR staff for going long.
After a question about his seemingly random "even janitor" audible picked up by FOX microphones last Sunday, Newton shared his pie in the sky concept about a behind-the-scenes look at the Panthers' huddle.
"It's pretty interesting. I think MTV or ESPN should pick that up and just have a Go-Pro sticking out like it's a sprinkler system," Newton joked.
But as the team's residential nickname giver, it's not at all surprising Newton has spent time coming up with roles for his teammates:
C Ryan Kalil - "The dictator."
LG Andrew Norwell - "The yeller."
RG Trai Turner - "The finisher."
RT Mike Remmers - "The panicker."
LT Michael Oher - "The grandfather. He's the Scrooge. He doesn't want nobody to play around, no matter what the score is."
WR Devin Funchess - "Has no clue what the hell's going on half the time."
WR Philly Brown - "He's cool."
WR Ted Ginn Jr. - "He's always exhausted."
WR Jerricho Cotchery - "He's the meditator. The Jerricho you see scoring a touchdown is going to be the same Jerricho you see pregame."
FB Mike Tolbert - "The Jolly one. He's the one that may say a corny joke every now and then. He has like a 20-30 percent chance of making people laugh, but it's the thought that counts."
TE Greg Olsen - "He's the overseer. He listens to the play and he's like, 'No, no, no. That's not right. No, it can't be even, it has to be odd. I can't zoom; I can't motion that way.'
"That's why I've said numerous times, half the time when I'm saying a play, I'm wrong and those guys, they fix it. It's like my autocorrect. When you're on Word document, they're the red lining right there."
Cool. Lol I will have to look for this interview
