Love Cam, but he types like my 12 year old cousin. Seriously, what is that?

    • Comment Grader

He’s connecting with his Instagram audience which would be roughly the age of your 12 year old cousin. About the 10-20ish year old range

I feel the exact same way :-/

    Bill,
I’ve heard a lot of criticism on Cam’s behavior and how he has used social media to express his “childish” behavior. I’ve been a Panthers fan since day one so I understand Cam’s real intentions, but I was interested if you could help shed some light on his actions for my more close-minded friends. Thanks!

Hi, John. Cam is obviously a hot-button topic and this week ramped things up even more. Ultimately, Cam’s intentions are to be who he is … he’s done trying to fit in these boxes we all think he should fit into. I think it’s fascinating because it’s something that’s going to go on for years now. I’m a media/PR dork, so I’m interested to see if end up being ingenious. If/when he wins more, and there’s no really to believe he won’t, this could make him even more of an icon because it’d be so different than QBs who came before him.

Cam mentioned in an earlier interview (a year ago?) that he changed his pouty sideline behavior after his family made him watch videos of himself doing that. Said he understood what he was projecting.

I’m sure he’ll have similar opportunities this off-season to view his time after the Superbowl. He’s an amazing and unique talent who is living a dream most of us could never imagine. But all weight of expectation and judgment is still on the shoulders of a 26-year-old whose maturity curve is still climbing.

He’ll get there. I think he commented recently about no one on the team was suspended due to disciplinary reasons. As a fan I am super happy we’re not the Bengals or similar orgs where off-field nonsense is a problem. Cam has publicly addressed many of his past personal stumbles and that takes some guts.
