Number of Games Cam Newton Hasn’t Been Sacked[gap size=”10px”]
The only time the offensive line kept Newton clean this season was against the Bengals, which is amazing considering that game went five quarters. In his eight other games, Newton has been sacked 30 times, second only to 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick (31).[gap size=”10px”]
The numbers are especially ugly over the last four weeks. Since the tie in Cincinnati, the Panthers have given up 19 sacks, including a franchise-tying nine last week to the Eagles.[gap size=”10px”]
Newton’s 261 sack yards are easily the highest in the league, and they’re already more than the totals from his first two seasons.

Jonathan Stewart’s Ranking in Total Rushing Yards[gap size=”10px”]
With 299 yards, Stewart is the Panthers’ leading rusher. That’s one more yard than Kaepernick, who’s 40th in rushing.[gap size=”10px”]
Stewart and DeAngelo Williams have each missed multiple games, but the lack of a running attack has been a major factor in the offensive issues.[gap size=”10px”]
For his part, the banged-up Newton has rushed for 263 yards on 59 carries. He’s on pace to run for 437 yards, which would be well below any of his first three season (2011 – 706, 2012 – 741, 2013 – 585).

Percentage of Opponent Red Zone Trips That Have Ended With Touchdowns[gap size=”10px”]
There’s bend but don’t break, and then there’s what the Panthers’ defense has been in the red zone. They’re third-last in the league at stopping teams from scoring touchdowns once they get inside the red zone. Last year, they were third best, with a stingy percentage of 41.86.[gap size=”10px”]
This week, they face the Falcons, who have scored touchdowns on 71.43 percent of their trips inside the red zone, which is third-best in the league.
