HORTON RETURNS
A week after they released him, the Panthers brought defensive end Wes Horton back.
Horton, who served a four-game suspension this year for violating the league’s substance abuse policy, was added to the practice squad.
Because he’s not a pass rushing end, Horton has had a nondescript first three seasons. But one team he does match up well against is Seattle, who the Panthers could face next week. In three games against the Seahawks, Horton totaled eight tackles and a sack.
“If something were to happen, he’d be a guy we’d not have a problem with,” Rivera said when asked if bringing Horton back was with the postseason in mind.
“He can play any of the positions for us along our defensive line. We have a lot of confidence in him, so we’ll most certainly consider that. And we most certainly do have an eye on him for next year as well.”
