Panthers coach Ron Rivera thought an NFC Championship Game rematch with the Cardinals would have been an attractive alternative to opening up the season at Denver. Now it's not even intriguing enough to be a late-afternoon game.

The NFL announced on Wednesday that Week Eight's Carolina-Arizona matchup has been moved from 4:25 p.m. to 1 p.m. FOX will now air the Packers and Falcons in their late-afternoon window.

This sort of thing can happen when you're not winning. The Panthers (1-4) and Cardinals (2-3) are arguably the two most disappointing teams in the NFL this season. And for many outside the Carolinas and Arizona, Green Bay's (3-1) trip to Atlanta (4-1) will be a much more interesting game.
