On Wednesday, we posted about a new online game by Fanspeak that lets fans ‘manage the cap’ in a free agency simulator. We also mentioned if a handful of Panthers fans filled out their own rosters, we’d post them. Well, many took us up on that, and you can see how they did in the role of Dave Gettleman by navigating through this post. But first, some things that stood out:
- DE Charles Johnson, who has a $20 million cap hit in 2015, was restructured in all 17 submissions.
- DE Greg Hardy was re-signed five times and one fan even re-used the franchise tag on him.
- S Thomas DeCoud was cut 16 times while RB DeAngelo Williams was let go in 11 of the rosters.
- TE Ed Dickson and DT Colin Cole were popular picks to bring back in 2015.
- A handful were willing to spend a chunk of the cap signing T Bryan Bulaga, but most stayed away from high-priced WRs, instead opting for cheaper options like Cecil Shorts.
