Panthers’ Prospect? Florida OT D.J. Humphries

Throughout the week, BBR will be posting short capsules on some of the most intriguing prospects — from a Panthers’ perspective — at the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

DJ Humphries, OT, Florida, 6-5, 307[gap size=”10px”]

Humphries was the top-ranked offensive lineman in the country during his senior season at Charlotte’s Mallard Creek High School. The draft advisory board suggested he stay at Florida one more year, but the junior said a “gut feeling” led him to declare early. He’s a late riser who some draft analysts are now predicting as a first-round pick.

Projected Round: 1-3Biggest Concerns: Strength; injuries limited him to just 19 starts in his three seasons in Gainesville.Quote to Note: “All my Charlotte friends just want me to go to the Panthers so bad. (But) whoever’s ready to take me I’m ready to ride. That would be pretty cool to go back home to Charlotte.”Humphries Clippings:
